SEO ranking factors 2011. What are the key factors associated to rank well on a search engine. 2011 saw Google introduce a whole series of updates to their indexing algoritm. These changes were released under the name of “Panda”. The following table includes the main factors that search engines use to position your website / pages in search result positions.
Including whole new areas such as the Plus 1, “block site” and greater emphasis on bounce rate and link quality.
The following list contains does not include all the factors that search engines use. Google for example has circa 200 factors in their algorithm mix. However, getting the basics right and avoiding pitfalls will have a major impact on where your website will be positioned in search results.
SEO ranking factors can be viewed as a double edged sword. Getting it right may give you a “positive” bonus of between +1 to +3 (+3 being best) however, getting it wrong, like copying content, can get you a “negative” penalty in equal proportion.
